Complaints
As a responsible airfield operator Blanefield Airfield Operations Limited are keen to hear from concerned individuals and to deal with complaints effectively.
Rather than making a telephone call speaking with 'just anyone' we would prefer to obtain a written record of your complaint. This is vital to investigate the situation more fully and by filling in this online form you are assured your complaint is received by the most senior member of staff on site. Please CLICK HERE for the online form.
Although we do not receive many complaints many of those we do relate to aircraft or aircraft noise. Before you make your complaint you may wish to read the following...
For your information;
- Not all aircraft in the Salisbury area are from, or are going to Old Sarum Airfield
- Aircraft may not be in radio contact with Old Sarum, even when flying directly over the airfield
- As an Air Ground radio service we are prevented from giving instructions to aircraft
You may also like to know;
-
The CAA inspect and regulate the airfield, the circuits, routes and airfield operations
-
Pilots are required to fly within rules provided and regulated by the CAA
-
We operate under a MATZ (Military Air Traffic Zone) and pilots are required to fly a specified route and height when it is active
-
The danger area to the East and the Air Traffic Zone at Boscombe to the North mean our routes have strict limitations
-
A pilot may be required to fly in an unusual or unfamiliar way for reasons of flight safety - if avoiding action is required, if the aircraft or pilot has a problem or if the weather conditions require it
The patterns or routes aircraft fly from, to or around the airfield vary according to local factors on the day and these can change during the day, due to;
-
the weather
-
the MATZ
-
active parachuting
-
Other special events or circumstances
In all cases every possible consideration has been given to the affects of flying on the local area and we have in place 'noise abatement', and 'do not fly over' procedures to help achieve this aim. We do however welcome and act on reports from individuals about specific problems or concerns so please let us know. CLICK HERE for our online complaint form.
